27 Dec“New Year’s Eve” Youth Celebration!

December 31, 2010 7:00 pmtoJanuary 1, 2011 1:00 am

On Friday, December 31, Lakeside Baptist Church will be holding a very special “New Year’s Eve” Celebration for the youth group.  Beginning at 7:00 pm, we will meet at the church to load up and go bowling for an hour or two.  Then, we will return to the church (at least by 9:00 pm) for pizza, games, movies, a short time of Bible study and prayer, and to “ring in the new year” together as a church group.  We’ll end the event at 1:00 am, just after the start of the new year.  Students who don’t care to go bowling can arrive at the church at 9:00 for the “in-house” part of the evening…and parents who don’t feel like having to pick up their children at 1:00 am can even make arrangements with Bro. Josh (in advance, please!) to have their children brought home after the event ends.  For more information, please contact Assistant Pastor, Josh Dear, via Facebook, or on his cell phone, at (601) 842-8892.

25 DecThe Sunday After Christmas

December 26, 2010
10:30 amto11:30 am

On Sunday, December 26, we will be having ONLY a 10:30 am worship service.  So that our families will have more time to celebrate this special season with their loved ones, we will not have Sunday School or our Sunday night activities this weekend (All of these will resume next week.).  This special “Christmas weekend” service will continue to celebrate the great and glorious gift which we have received in the Incarnation of Christ.  Also, at the conclusion of the service, Lakeside Baptist Church will be giving our members a very special Christmas gift which can help you grow in your knowledge of the Savior whom we celebrate during this wonderful season.  We hope that you will be able to join us for this very special time of worship – and we hope that Christ will be supreme in your thoughts at Christmastime and throughout the year.

01 SepThe Senior Luncheon for December 9 is canceled…but “John Wesley” is coming instead!

December 9, 2010
7:00 pmto8:00 pm

Our Senior Luncheon for December 9 has been canceled, but we have since added a very special event for that evening.  On December 9, from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, Lakeside Baptist Church will host B. J. Johnston in his one-man dramatic performance on the life of John Wesley, titled “The Man from Aldersgate”.  This spectacular production brings to life the journals of John Wesley, and helps us gain a glimpse into the life of one of the most significant and inspiring figures in church history.  The event is free and open to the public, but a free-will love offering will be accepted after the performance.  Please make every effort not to miss this exciting and inspiring presentation!
