Capturing the passion to assist our congregation in its’ desire to praise, Lakeside’s two bell choirs provide periodic music in the worship services.
Our children bring great delight as they handle a colored-coded bell in each hand and ring the correct bell as directed by their leader. The children practice during their Sunday School music period and usually provide the offertory time the third Sunday of each month. Their playing provides us the opportunity to guide and teach them some basic fundamentals in music, as well as the importance of being a part of a worship service.
Older teens and adults often provide accompaniment with the organ, piano, and keyboard to congregational singing, as well as times of solo pieces to aid in worship for the assembled participants. Those that read music and enjoy the challenge of collaborating with others to jointly bring praise are found in this group. The range of the bells covers five octaves, enabling a wide range in a musical repertoire.
